NISER PDF and RA Physics Recruitment 2026: Overview
National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar is recruiting a Post-Doctoral Fellow / Research Associate for its School of Physical Sciences. The institute is an autonomous institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, and this is a temporary research appointment.
You would join Dr. Anamitra Mukherjee in a research area covering quantum many-body theory and strongly correlated electron systems. The notice offers alternative fellowship grades for the same opening, so the PDF / RA-I, RA-II and RA-III labels should be read as appointment categories within this recruitment.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Fixed tenure: The appointment runs only until 31 March 2027. Keep this end point in mind when considering how the position fits your research plans.
- Travel costs: NISER will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview or seminar presentation. The same restriction applies to travel for joining if you are selected.

न्यूनतम योग्यता
PhD in Physical Sciences, Interdisciplinary Sciences or a related area from a recognized university. For PDF / RA-I, a certificate confirming successful thesis defence and eligibility for the PhD award may also be considered. PDF / RA-II needs 1 year of relevant work experience; PDF / RA-III needs 2 years.
