NIA Principal Consultant Estate Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur is engaging a Principal Consultant (Estate) to guide its estate, engineering and campus-infrastructure work. NIA is a deemed-to-be university under the Ministry of Ayush, so the assignment combines public-institution administration with technical oversight of an educational and healthcare campus. The post is reserved for a retired government servant who has already handled senior engineering or administrative responsibilities. You would advise the institute rather than enter a regular service cadre.

The consultant will work under the overall supervision of the Vice-Chancellor and coordinate with the Joint Director (Administration), Estate Section and technical or executing agencies. The brief covers both ongoing works and longer-term campus planning, with a strong focus on scrutiny, monitoring and practical advice to the institute's decision-makers.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Initial term: The engagement ordinarily begins for one year and may be extended for another year after a performance, need, funding and approval review.
  • Post-retirement ceiling: The engagement cannot continue beyond the maximum period allowed by the NIA policy, including its five-year ceiling after superannuation.
  • Contract status: This is a full-time contractual assignment with no claim to regular appointment, absorption, continuation or other service benefits.
  • Agreement: The selected person must sign NIA's contract and a non-disclosure or confidentiality undertaking before joining.
  • Verification: Final engagement depends on the previous service record, pension and vigilance or antecedent checks.
