Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial term: Your engagement can run for up to one year. NERIWALM will assess your contribution and its own requirements before deciding whether to extend it.
• Overall tenure: The normal maximum is three years. An exceptional extension can add one year, but the total engagement cannot go beyond four years.
• Separate engagement: These positions sit outside the institute’s sanctioned faculty posts. They do not change the number of regular posts or the recruitment of regular faculty.
• State-based work: You will remain stationed in your respective state. NERIWALM will allot assignments or projects and decide the period for each through its competent authority.
• Duty days: Only the days on which you actually work on an allotted assignment count as duty days for payment and related purposes. The engagement does not promise a full month of paid duty.
• Travel for interaction: If you are called for an interaction, NERIWALM will not cover your travel or daily expenses.
• Institute’s discretion: NERIWALM may cancel the recruitment at any stage or reject applications without giving reasons. Issuing the advertisement does not commit it to making an appointment.

• Conduct lectures, seminars and workshops on water management, infrastructure planning and sustainable land use.
• Mentor students and junior faculty in practical engineering and management.
• Lead or support research on regional water and land management problems.
• Work with local authorities, communities and other stakeholders on field projects.
• Prepare practical recommendations for policy, governance and infrastructure planning.
• Advise on flood control, irrigation and soil conservation project design and execution.
