MZU Director DIA-CoE Recruitment 2026: Overview
Mizoram University (MZU), Aizawl is looking for a Director to lead the DRDO-Industry Academia Centre of Excellence (DIA-CoE, MZU). The centre was set up under an MoU between DRDO and Mizoram University to carry out directed research, working with academic researchers, start-ups, industries and other institutes across the country to push advanced technology research forward.
The Director is the administrative and executive head of the centre and is hired on a full-time contract. This is a senior leadership role for a seasoned technologist — someone who can set the centre's research direction, bring industry partners on board and turn lab work into technology that DRDO can use.

- Human Cognition Studies
The centre takes up multidisciplinary applied research across these four areas, so your background does not have to be limited to one field — the notice says the technology domains are not restricted to the areas listed.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract term: an initial appointment of 3 years, which the competent authority can extend by 2 more years after a performance review.
- Exit clause: either side can end the contract before 3 years by giving 3 months' notice, without giving a reason.
- Joining: the selected candidate must submit a declaration to join within 30 days of the appointment letter.
- Retired government officers: pay for retired Central or State Government employees is fixed under the Department of Expenditure (DoE) rules for Old Pension Scheme and New Pension Scheme pensioners, linked to your last pay — so your figure depends on your pension scheme.
- Serving officers: if you hold a full-time post in a government organisation, attach a no-objection certificate from your parent organisation.
- Housing and health: MZU may give you accommodation in university quarters on campus, subject to availability, and the MZU Health Centre provides medical facilities.
