The Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB), also known as ESB Bhopal, has released the rulebook for 2,784 Agriculture Extension Officer posts under the Group-2 Sub-Group-1 exam. These are regular Class-3 (executive) posts in the Directorate of Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development. The selection is through a single computer-based test (CBT), with no interview. If you are a graduate who wants a stable state government job working closely with farmers, this is a big opportunity.

Vacancy Breakdown by Category

  • Unreserved (General): 1,126 posts
  • Other Backward Class (OBC): 776 posts
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 444 posts
  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 316 posts
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST): 122 posts

35% of the posts are reserved horizontally for women candidates, and 6% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must hold a Bachelor's degree (graduation) in a subject prescribed under the department's recruitment rules for this post.
  • Domicile: Reservation, fee concession and age relaxation benefits apply only to candidates who are permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh. Candidates from other states can apply only under the unreserved category.
  • Employment registration: You must be registered with a Madhya Pradesh employment exchange (Rojgar Karyalay).

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 01 January 2026 for open direct recruitment.
  • Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is 45 years for Madhya Pradesh domicile SC, ST, OBC candidates, women, government or corporation/board/autonomous body employees, and Nagar Sainik (5 years relaxation).
  • EWS: No age relaxation is given to Economically Weaker Section candidates.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a pay scale of Rs. 25,300 to Rs. 80,500 per month under the Madhya Pradesh 7th Pay Matrix.
  • You will also get DA, TA and other allowances as per Madhya Pradesh government rules.
  • During the 3-year probation period, you will get a stipend of 70% of the pay in the first year, 80% in the second year, and 90% in the third year. Full pay starts after you complete probation.

Application Fee

  • Unreserved (General): Rs. 500
  • Madhya Pradesh domicile SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PwBD: Rs. 250
  • Direct recruitment backlog posts: No fee
  • An extra MP Online portal charge of Rs. 60 (through kiosk) or Rs. 20 (registered citizen user) is payable in addition to the fee.
  • Payment mode: Online through the MP Online portal.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): A single online paper of 200 marks. Merit is based on your score in this exam.
  2. Document Verification: Your qualification, category and other certificates are checked by the recruiting department.
  3. Medical Examination: You must be medically fit for appointment.

There is no interview. Aadhaar-based biometric verification is mandatory at the exam centre.

How to Apply

  1. Go to the MPESB portal at esb.mp.gov.in.
  2. Register through the MP Online portal.
  3. Fill in the online application form and choose your post preference.
  4. Upload your photo, signature and required documents.
  5. Pay the fee online.
  6. Submit the form and take a printout for your records.

You can correct your application between 3 July 2026 and 22 July 2026. Only online applications are accepted.
