MPSC has released Advertisement No. 19 of 2026-27 for 2 Sub-Inspector of Excise & Narcotics posts in a Group 'B' (Non-Gazetted) cadre under the Excise & Narcotics Department. As a Sub-Inspector, you will handle detection, investigation, and prosecution of offences under the laws enforced by the department, while maintaining strict discipline and leading your subordinates during raids. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a graduate degree in Arts, Commerce, or Science (or an equivalent degree) from a recognised university.
• Computer Proficiency: You must have Computer Proficiency as prescribed under the Mizoram Group 'A', 'B' and 'C' posts Service/Recruitment Rules, 2023.
• Mizo Language Proficiency: You must pass the Mizo Language Proficiency qualifying test. You are exempted if you studied Mizo as a subject in Class 10 (HSLC) or above within Mizoram, or opted for Mizo as MIL outside Mizoram.

You must upload all supporting documents in the online portal before the last date, including your HSLC and above marksheets and certificates, proof of computer proficiency, proof of Mizo language proficiency, your SC/ST certificate (if applicable), proof of date of birth, and your graduation certificate with complete marksheets. Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 30 years old as on 1 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by up to 5 years for ST/SC candidates.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary under Level 7 of the Pay Matrix, which typically ranges from Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Government of Mizoram rules.

Physical Standards

If you clear the written stage, you'll need to meet the following physical measurement and fitness standards during the Physical Efficiency Test:

For Male Candidates:

• Height: 156 cm
• Chest: 77 cm (normal) / 82 cm (expanded)
• 100m Race: 15 seconds
• 800m Race: 3 minutes
• High Jump: 108 cm
• Long Jump: 366 cm

For Female Candidates:

• Height: 150 cm
• Chest: 72 cm (normal) / 74 cm (expanded)
• 100m Race: 30 seconds
• 400m Race: 3 minutes
• High Jump: 80 cm
• Long Jump: 244 cm

Application Fee

• Persons with Disabilities (PwD): No fee
• Fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances.
• Payment mode: Online through the MPSC portal. UPI payments must be made using the mobile number registered for One Time Registration (OTR).

Selection Process

The selection will be done through the following stages:
