Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA), working under the Planning Department of the Government of Maharashtra, is hiring a Research Officer for Engineering and Modelling for the Knowledge Management Project Management Unit supporting the World Bank-assisted Maharashtra Urban Water Supply, Sanitation and Reuse Program. This is a contractual research and analytical role based at MITRA in Mumbai, with travel and coordination connected to the programme and its urban water, sanitation and reuse work.

The officer will support the Engineering and Modelling Specialist by turning technical information into usable analysis, benchmarking material and research outputs. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract status: This engagement does not create any right to a regular appointment in MITRA or the Government of Maharashtra, and the contractual terms issued under the programme will govern the assignment.
• Reporting line: The Research Officer will report to the Deputy Programme Director, Joint CEO of MITRA, or another officer named by the CEO, keeping technical work aligned with the unit's priorities.
• Coordination: The role works with the programme management units, project implementation units, Urban Development Department, Government of India representatives, World Bank teams, consultants and academic partners, so clear written follow-up matters alongside analytical ability.
• Continuation: Any extension depends on your performance, the programme's need, available funds and approval from the competent authority; the initial selection is not a promise of continued engagement.
• Mobility: The main workplace is Mumbai, while programme assignments can involve travel and coordination elsewhere as needed for meetings, missions and technical follow-up.
