इस नौकरी के बारे में

Apply for 6 Assistant Professor posts in MGU. Master's with NET/PhD eligible. Salary Rs 40,000/month. Last date 10 Sep 2026. Apply via email at mgu.ac.in.

MGU Assistant Professor Multi-Subject Recruitment 2026: Overview

Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kottayam, is filling Assistant Professor posts on contract across Hindi, History, Mathematics, Microbiology/Biotechnology, Environmental Science and Physics, spread across the university's Graduate School, IIRBS and NIPST departments. This is a re-notification of the university's earlier contract-faculty drive, reopened specifically for these six subjects. Candidates with a Master's degree and NET/SET or Ph.D. qualifications as per UGC norms can apply.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Hindi: contract teaching post for the Hindi discipline.
  • History: contract teaching post for the History discipline.
  • Mathematics: contract teaching post for the Mathematics discipline.
  • Microbiology/Biotechnology: contract post at the IIRBS (Inter University Institute for Research in Bio Sciences).
  • Environmental Science: contract teaching post for the Environmental Science discipline.
  • Physics: contract teaching post for the Physics discipline.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Nature of engagement: All six posts are purely contractual, not permanent — they carry no claim to a regular MGU faculty position.
  • Pay tier: The consolidated pay depends on qualification — UGC-qualified (NET/SET/Ph.D.) candidates are paid at a higher rate than non-UGC-qualified candidates, as per the university's usual norms for such posts.
  • Age relaxation: Retired college/university teachers are also eligible to apply, subject to the age ceiling.

Application Submission Notes

Applications must be submitted by email, as specified in the official notification, within the 10-day window that closes on 10 September 2026. Be ready to produce your original certificates and testimonials if shortlisted for the next stage.

Corrigenda and Notices

  • Re-Notification dated 31 August 2026: reopens applications for six subjects — Hindi, History, Mathematics, Microbiology/Biotechnology, Environmental Science and Physics — under the university's Notification No. 5931, originally issued on 2 June 2026 for 30 contract Assistant Professor posts across multiple departments.

  • Prepare lecture material, assignments and evaluation papers
