MBMA Procurement Multi Post Recruitment 2026: Overview
Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) is recruiting procurement professionals on contract for Shillong under MBDA/MBMA. The notice brings together a senior specialist role and a Manager/Assistant Manager position, with the latter offered at the appropriate level. Meghalaya citizens living outside the state are also encouraged to consider the opportunity.
Posts and Disciplines
- Lead Procurement Specialist: This is the senior procurement category. Its professional context includes donor-funded projects and work spanning sectors such as rural development, natural-resource management, watersheds, livelihoods, infrastructure and community programmes.
- Manager/Assistant Manager Procurement: This is a shared position with alternative appointment levels. Both levels sit within procurement and supply-chain work for projects; they are not separate vacancies in this notice.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract: The initial term is one year. Renewal depends on your performance being satisfactory to MBDA/MBMA and on continuation of the project with which you work.
- Agreement: You will receive detailed engagement terms if selected and must sign a deed agreement with MBMA. Read those terms before accepting the appointment.
- Shortlisting: Meeting the minimum requirements does not automatically secure an interview. MBMA can narrow the shortlist using higher qualifications, greater experience or other criteria it considers suitable.
- Communication: Only shortlisted applicants receive test or interview information by SMS or email. The shortlist will also appear on the MBDA website and office notice board, so keep your contact details accurate.
- Travel: Assessment and interview arrangements are based in Shillong. MBMA will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending.
- Existing staff: MBDA/MBMA staff must route their applications through their reporting officer or obtain a recommendation letter. Newly appointed staff must complete at least one year in their current position.
- Appointment flexibility: Where suitable applicants are unavailable, MBMA may consider people for a lower position under the relaxation provision in the notice.
- Recruitment discretion: The advertised strength is tentative. MBMA may change it, extend the closing date, leave positions unfilled or cancel recruitment at any stage.
- Conduct: Canvassing can disqualify you. Incomplete applications may be rejected, so check the entries you provide before sending the form.
