Kannur University has invited applications for one Project Assistant position at the BIRAC E-YUVA Centre, a research and innovation support unit on its Dr. Janaki Ammal Campus in Thalassery. The role involves providing scientific and administrative support to the Centre — from managing lab facilities to helping the Project Coordinator with research proposals and events. As a Project Assistant, you will report to the Centre's Project Coordinator and the Chief Coordinator/Principal Investigator of the BIRAC E-YUVA Project. Your day-to-day work will include supporting fellows at different stages — from undergraduate students to post-doctoral researchers — who work at the Centre, along with handling the Centre's purchases, finances, and documentation. The initial contract is for 1 year, and it may be extended up to 3 years in line with the project's funding and milestones (co-terminus with the project), though continuation depends on your performance and is not guaranteed. Your contract will be reviewed each year based on your performance and the continued availability of project funding, in line with Kannur University's standard practice for project positions. The University has also made clear that this appointment is purely contractual and temporary, and does not create any right to a regular or permanent position at Kannur University.
