IUST Project Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is hiring a Project Assistant for a research project in its Department of Electrical Engineering. The project focuses on designing and deploying smart weather stations that provide local data for precision horticulture in Jammu and Kashmir. Supported by JKST&IC, this is a project-linked engagement at IUST in Awantipora.

Service Conditions and Caveats

Initial tenure: Your engagement starts with six months. An extension depends on your performance and whether project funds remain available.
Project-linked appointment: The position is temporary and ends with the project. Continued engagement depends on performance and the project's continuation.
Joining: If selected, you must join within seven days of the appointment order being issued. Keep this short joining window in mind when considering the role.
Funding: Salary payments depend on the funding agency releasing money. This funding condition applies even though the notice specifies a monthly rate.
Leaving early: If you resign before your engagement ends, you must give one month's notice or pay one month's salary instead.
University discretion: The selection committee may leave the post unfilled if it does not find a suitable person. The university can also cancel the post without giving a reason.
Applicable rules: Your appointment follows university and funding-agency rules, including later changes to those rules and guidelines.
Travel costs: You will not receive travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.

B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Mechatronics, Instrumentation or an allied discipline with 55% marks or equivalent.

Practical experience in Internet of Things (IoT) system development, embedded system programming and Python is desirable.
