IPC Editorial Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, needs an Editorial Assistant at its office in Ghaziabad. IPC publishes the Indian Pharmacopoeia, the official book of drug standards for India, along with its drafts, errata, addenda and the IP Online edition.
The job sits right inside that publishing work: editing monographs, checking references and keeping the editorial records in order. You will be hired through an outsourcing manpower agency on contract, not directly onto IPC's rolls. It suits science postgraduates who already have hands-on editing and proofreading experience in scientific or regulatory publishing.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Hiring route: The post is filled through an IPC-authorised outsourcing manpower agency, and that agency informs the selected candidate.
- Contract term: The contract runs for one year. If your work and conduct are not found satisfactory, the contract can be ended at any time without a reason.
- Desirable background: Experience with government bodies, research institutions, pharmacopoeial bodies, scientific publishers or science communication firms counts in your favour.
- Vacancies can change: IPC may raise or cut the number of posts, or cancel the process, without giving a reason.
- No TA/DA: You travel to Ghaziabad at your own cost for the interview and test.
- Accuracy: If any detail you give turns out to be false or wrong, your candidature or appointment can be cancelled later.
Application Submission Notes
There is no form to submit in advance. Walk in to the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ghaziabad for the written test and interview, which are held in physical mode only.
Report at the venue between 09:00 and 10:00 AM. Latecomers will not be allowed in. Bring your original certificates with one set of self-attested copies. If a large crowd turns up, the process may carry on to the next working day, so keep that day free.

- Edit, proofread and copyedit Indian Pharmacopoeia monographs and related publications such as drafts, errata, addenda and IP Online
- Check references, hyperlinks, citations, bibliographies and appendices against the IPC style guide
- Keep documentation, version control and editorial records for the review and revision of IP publications
- Coordinate with subject experts and reviewers so content is reviewed, revised and finalised on time
- Use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF editing tools, AI tools and editorial management systems for editorial tasks

Master's degree in Pharmacy/Chemistry/Bio-Chemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Science or a related science discipline from a recognised university
