IITH Accountant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, is hiring an Accountant for its Kandi campus in Sangareddy. This is a contractual finance role supporting the institute's day-to-day accounts, budget monitoring and compliance work. The post is reserved for EWS in the first instance, but the notice allows it to be treated as unreserved if a suitable EWS applicant is not available because the requirement is urgent. General-category applicants who otherwise meet the conditions may therefore also apply.

The job is built around practical institutional accounting rather than basic data entry. You will work with payment records, accounting vouchers, budget reports, bank reconciliation and bill checks while carefully applying tax and audit rules. Experience in a government body, university, research institution or a well-established private organisation is especially relevant because the role needs careful documentation and an understanding of formal financial controls. Familiarity with academic institutions such as IITs, NITs or central universities is an added advantage.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The initial appointment is for 11 months. An extension may be considered only when performance is satisfactory and the institute still needs the role.
• Ending the contract: Either side may end the engagement with one month's notice. The appointment does not create a right to regular employment at IITH.
• Work schedule: The normal schedule is eight hours a day and six days a week. You may also need to work on weekends or holidays when the responsible institute official asks.
• Accommodation: Contract staff have no automatic right to campus housing. IITH may consider an allotment case by case when the service is essential, space is available and the applicable licence charge is paid.
• Health cover: The selected person must arrange a valid health-insurance policy at personal cost for the engagement period and give a copy when joining.
• Medical support: Institute medical facilities for contract staff are limited to outpatient care during medical emergencies, and medical expenses are not reimbursed.
• Experience check: Only work completed after the qualifying degree is counted. Part-time employment does not count toward the notified experience.
• Selection attendance: IITH will not pay travelling or daily allowance for attending the assessment. Bring original records with self-attested copies when called.
• Updates: Recruitment changes and corrigenda will appear only on the institute website, so keep checking the official careers page after applying.
