IIT Jammu Project Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) is engaging a Project Assistant in the Department of Chemistry for an ANRF-Ramanujan Fellowship project. The study, titled “Flow Chemistry for Controlling Pathway Selection of Supramolecular Polymers for Photovoltaics Application”, brings together synthesis, self-assembly, flow chemistry and materials research. It is a good fit if you want laboratory experience at the point where fundamental chemistry meets possible photovoltaic use.

Your work will centre on functional molecular building blocks and supramolecular polymers. The laboratory programme also uses microfluidic devices, analytical instruments and structured data analysis, so the assignment offers exposure to several parts of an experimental research cycle. You will work with the Ramanujan Faculty Fellow in Chemistry and support both bench work and the records needed to turn experiments into reports and research papers.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of role: This is a temporary, project-linked engagement and not a regular institute appointment.
• Initial tenure: The first engagement is for six months. It may end earlier when the project ends.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the basic qualification does not guarantee an interview call; IIT Jammu may shortlist by merit and project need.
• Interview format: The institute may hold the interaction online or offline and will share the schedule with shortlisted candidates by email.
• Travel: IIT Jammu will not reimburse TA or DA for an offline interview or for joining the assignment.
• Current employment: If you already have a job, you must provide a relieving certificate from your employer when selected.
• Language: The notice appears in English and Hindi; the English version controls if the two versions are unclear.
