IIT Indore JRF and SRF Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) is recruiting research fellows for the QUILA project, a consortium project on quantum communications under the National Quantum Mission (NQM). The project sits in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the institute's Simrol campus, with Professor Vimal Bhatia as the principal investigator.
This is a project appointment, and the notice encourages the selected researcher to pursue a PhD. If you are considering research alongside doctoral study, that encouragement is relevant, although the notice does not promise admission.
Posts and Disciplines
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): The junior fellowship route is part of the QUILA quantum communications project.
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): The senior fellowship route belongs to the same project and department. The notice does not give separate day-to-day duties for the two designations.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial tenure: Your appointment starts with six months and may be extended.
- Joining: The positions are available immediately, and you must join as soon as you receive the offer.
- Project rules: Institute and funding-agency conditions applicable to this project govern the appointment.
- Performance: The fellowship can end before the tenure finishes if performance is unsatisfactory, with 30 days' notice.
- Travel: IIT Indore will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview.
- Committee decision: The selection committee's decision is final.

पात्रता मानदंड
न्यूनतम योग्यता
JRF: BE/BTech/BSc or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Instrumentation, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Data Science or AI; alternatively MTech/ME/MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science and Engineering or related areas. SRF: PhD and/or master's degree in the relevant listed disciplines, or MTech/ME/MS in the listed engineering or related areas.

JRF: GATE, CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship), or a national-level examination conducted by central government departments, agencies or institutions is desirable. SRF: a valid GATE score is preferred.
