Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati is hiring a Research Associate-1 for a Material Chemistry project in its Department of Chemistry, led by Dr. Janardan Kundu. The project, carrying ANRF code 30223166, studies how doping and co-doping strategies can tune multi-excitonic light emission in low-dimensional metal halide hybrid materials. This is a purely project-based, contractual position tied to the project's funding cycle — PhD holders, or those who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting the award, with a strong research record in materials chemistry, are best suited.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The post is temporary for six months, extendable by another six months after a performance review, subject to funds being available.
• No absorption claim: The position carries no claim to permanent appointment or absorption at IISER Tirupati, and it ends automatically without notice when the project ends.
• Funding agency terms: Appointment terms follow the conditions set by the project's funding agency.
• Screening: Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call — the Project Leader can shortlist a limited number of candidates based on additional qualifications and experience if applications are numerous.
• Joining: You must join duty immediately once the offer is issued, and no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

• Conduct experimental research on doping and co-doping strategies for metal halide hybrid materials
• Synthesize and grow single crystals of metal halide hybrids for study
• Carry out optical characterization using UV-Vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence and time-resolved photoluminescence
• Analyze experimental data and maintain detailed lab records
• Prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals
• Assist the Principal Investigator with project reporting and documentation
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments used in the project
