IISER Tirupati Research Associate Biology Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati (IISER Tirupati) is recruiting a Research Associate-1 in the Department of Biology for Dr. Annapurna Devi Allu's project on stress-regulatory mechanisms in plants. The research area is computational biology, with a strong focus on understanding gene and chromatin regulatory networks at a systems level. The role combines computation with plant biology, making it especially relevant if you can connect data analysis in Python or R with molecular-biology questions and experimental results.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project-linked role: The appointment is purely temporary and runs only with the research project. It does not provide a claim to regular absorption at IISER Tirupati.
• Performance review: Continuation and extension depend on a satisfactory review every six months and the remaining project duration.
• Screening: Holding the basic academic qualification does not automatically secure an interview. The screening committee may limit the shortlist by weighing research quality, relevant skills and experience beyond the minimum.
• Research profile: Your application should clearly show doctoral or postdoctoral research quality and explain any work on systems-level computational analysis, regulatory networks, plants or molecular-biology experiments.
• Funding terms: The appointment follows the conditions applicable to the supporting programme. The programme also provides a nominal research grant for the selected fellow.
• External fellowships: After selection to the IISER PDRF programme, the institute may forward a fellow's application for competitive postdoctoral funding through schemes run by agencies such as DST-SERB, DBT, CSIR or ICMR.
• Travel support: IISER Tirupati will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview.
• Joining: The selected researcher must be prepared to join immediately after receiving the offer.
