Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIMU) is hiring Research Assistants for its Centre for Development Policy and Management (CDPM). The fixed-term roles support a study titled “Evaluating CSR Interventions in Public Schools in Rajasthan: Identifying Bottlenecks and Enhancing Operational Strategies.”

The assignment combines field contact with careful desk-based work. It covers qualitative records, survey data, literature review and research writing, so the work suits someone who enjoys meeting people but can also organise material accurately and turn it into clear analysis.

The project also offers exposure to a mixed-methods research environment at a leading management institute. You may contribute to research reports, policy briefs, academic papers and case studies while working with faculty, research professionals and varied public-education stakeholders.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment begins as a 12-month contract and may continue up to the project's stated end, subject to extension. It is a project role rather than a permanent institute post.
• Posting: One Research Assistant will work in Udaipur and the other in Jaipur. The Jaipur-based person must visit IIM Udaipur frequently.
• Reporting: Both positions report to the Co-head of CDPM at IIM Udaipur, which keeps field activity, data work and project documentation connected to the centre's research plan.
• Field commitment: The work involves extensive travel within Rajasthan and may require staying in project districts for weeks at a time. You should plan for sustained field periods, not only short day visits.
• Language use: Hindi is essential for fieldwork. Interviews and group discussions may also involve local dialects, and some material will need to be translated or transcribed into English.
• Research standards: School and community data must be handled with accuracy, completeness and ethical care. Detailed notes and well-organised records are part of the assignment's working expectations.
