Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) - National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), Jodhpur is building a temporary project team for SURAKSHA, a multi-state study on trans-fat regulation, safety and health assessment. The recruitment brings together a senior coordination role and field-oriented research roles, so it suits public-health professionals who want hands-on experience with a national study. Both engagements belong to the project rather than the institute's permanent staff structure.

The work may begin at ICMR-NIHR, Jodhpur and can extend to other parts of India as the study needs. This matters because the project combines central coordination with state-level field activity, data handling and contact with health-system partners. You should be comfortable moving between planning, research documentation and practical follow-up with teams.

Posts and Disciplines

• Program Coordinator: a senior public-health coordination role covering multi-state planning, data analysis, scientific writing and communication with participating teams. Experience with statistical software and MS Office will be useful.
• Research Associate: a field-focused role supporting surveys, data collection, stakeholder coordination and reports. The position is a fit for professionals who have already worked on public-health research or survey implementation.

Post-wise Duties

Program Coordinator

You will connect the study's field teams, monitor progress and help turn incoming information into clear analysis and scientific reports. You may also coordinate schedules across states and support decisions when field activities need adjustment.

Research Associate

You will support survey work, keep field records organised and maintain contact with local partners. A large part of your work will be making sure field data reaches the project team in a usable form and that follow-up actions are recorded.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: the initial engagement is for one year, but it may end earlier if the project or approved need ends. The appointment does not create a claim to a permanent ICMR-NIHR post.
• Funding: continued payment and engagement depend on the project's approved funds and requirements.
• Mobility: selected staff may work from Jodhpur or travel and serve elsewhere in India when the study requires it.
• Prior ICMR project service: people who have already served in ICMR projects or institutes for more than three years cannot take these positions.
• Notice period: either side may end the engagement with one month's notice.
• Attendance costs: the institute will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in.

This is an in-person walk-in process at ICMR-NIHR, Jodhpur. Bring the completed application form, one photocopy set and every original certificate for checking. Reporting is between 09:00 AM and 10:00 AM; late arrivals or applicants without originals will not be allowed to continue.

If you are employed, carry a No Objection Certificate from your employer or project investigator. People applying for both roles need a separate form for each role.
