Gurugram University (GU) is engaging a Research Assistant in its Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences for a Haryana State Research Fund project. The study, led by Dr. Neelam Vashist, focuses on innovative pyrimidine derivatives as a possible strategy for targeting EGFR/HER2+ tyrosine kinase in breast cancer. This is a hands-on pharmaceutical research role, not a general administrative assistant position.

The project combines medicinal chemistry, computational work and biological validation. A strong applicant will be comfortable moving between compound-related laboratory tasks, molecular modelling tools, experimental records and scientific writing. The funding is administered through the Haryana State Higher Education Council, while the day-to-day work sits with the university's Pharmaceutical Sciences team at its Sector 87 campus.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project-linked engagement: the initial appointment is for six months and may continue until the project ends, subject to project extension, satisfactory work, conduct and available funds.
• Co-terminus position: the post ends with the sponsored project and does not create a right to regular appointment at Gurugram University.
• Work commitment: the selected researcher cannot take other paid work, private tuition or an academic course during the contract period.
• Performance condition: the fellowship can be cancelled for misconduct, unsatisfactory research progress or a later finding that the appointee did not meet the eligibility conditions.
• Research assignment: the Principal Investigator may assign work connected with the named project as its experimental and reporting needs develop.
• Joining expectation: the successful applicant should be ready to report at short notice after selection.
• Interview travel: the university will not pay TA, DA or another allowance for attending the interview.
• Workplace: the engagement is based in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Gurugram University, where the research group and project facilities are located.
