GMC Khammam Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Government Medical College (GMC), Khammam, run by the Government of Telangana, is filling 17 types of support, technical and paramedical posts on an outsourcing basis under Notification-II/2026. The engagement is for one year or until further orders, so treat it as a contract job rather than a regular government post.

The biggest share of openings is for Data Entry Operators, followed by Office Subordinates and Lab Attendants, but the list also covers skilled trades such as carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. There is no written exam — the college ranks you on your qualifying-exam marks plus a small weightage for age. Only local candidates can apply, so check the unit of appointment for your post before you fill the form.

Posts and Disciplines

• Nursing Officer (Staff Nurse ICU): intensive care nursing work for nurses registered with the Telangana Nursing Council; a Zone-IV post.
• Data Entry Operator: computer-based office work for graduates with PGDCA or computer skills and a fast keying speed; a Khammam district post.
• Office Subordinate and Attendant: general support posts in the college for 10th-pass candidates.
• Lab Attendant: laboratory support for DMLT or B.Sc (MLT) holders registered with the Telangana Para Medical Board.
• MNO/FNO (Male/Female Nursing Orderly): ward orderly posts for candidates with a first aid certificate; bedside experience gets preference.
• Skilled trades — Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber, Tailor and Gas Operator: ITI-based trade posts; the Electrician post is a Zone-IV post that also needs long field experience.
• Barber and Dhobi: service posts that need Telugu reading and writing and hands-on experience in the trade.
• Cataloguer (Central Records) and Record Clerk/Record Assistant: records and library work; the Cataloguer post is a Zone-IV post.
• Refractionist / Optician (Ophthalmology): an eye-department post for candidates trained at the School of Optometry, Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital; a Zone-IV post.
• Museum Assistant cum Artist (Central Photographic cum Audiovisual): a creative post for degree or BFA holders registered with the Telangana Para Medical Board.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Local cadre only: Under G.O.Ms.No.177 of 04.08.2021, these posts are organised into district and zonal cadres, and only candidates who belong to the local cadre can apply.
• District posts: Here, district means Khammam District only.
• Zone-IV posts: Nursing Officer, Cataloguer, Electrician and Refractionist/Optician are open to locals of Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanumakonda districts.
• Reservation: The selection list follows the rule of reservation and the Presidential Order 2018; a few roster points for SC and visually handicapped candidates are backlog points.
• SC sub-classification: SC candidates must submit the latest community certificate under Act No. 15 of 2025 showing SC Group-I, II or III — applications without it will not be accepted.
• Merit list objections: The provisional merit list goes up on the website so you can raise objections before the final list comes out.
• Right to cancel: The Principal, GMC Khammam can cancel the process at any stage or change the number of posts.

Application Submission Notes

This is an offline, in-person application. Download the form and instructions from the college website (gmc.khammam.org, as printed in the notice), fill it in, paste one photograph and attach self-attested copies of your certificates.

Hand over the completed form in person at the Office of the Principal, Government Medical College, Khammam, before 5 PM on the last day. The notice does not mention postal or online submission, so plan to visit the office yourself.
