GAIL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 - Overview

GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, is hiring Executive Trainees (E-2 Grade). The selection is based on GATE-2026 scores followed by Group Discussion and Interview. This is a great opportunity for fresh engineering graduates to start their career in one of India's top PSUs.

• Chemical Engineering: 17 posts
• Instrumentation Engineering: 21 posts
• Electrical Engineering: 16 posts
• Mechanical Engineering: 16 posts

Category-wise breakup:

• UR (General): 32 posts
• EWS: 5 posts
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 18 posts
• SC: 12 posts
• ST: 3 posts
• PwBD: 9 posts (reserved across categories)

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: BE/BTech or equivalent in Chemical, Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with at least 65% marks (60% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates)
• GATE-2026: You must have a valid GATE-2026 score in the relevant discipline. Scores from earlier years are not accepted.
• Age Limit: Maximum 26 years as on 18 March 2026
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST - 5 years, OBC (NCL) - 3 years, PwBD - 10/13/15 years as per rules
• Experience: Freshers can apply. No work experience needed.

Salary and Benefits

Executive Trainees will be placed in E-2 Grade on IDA pay scale.

• Pay Scale: Rs. 60,000 - Rs. 1,80,000 per month
• Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 60,000 per month

Training Period

Selected candidates will go through a training-cum-probation period of 1 year. After successful completion, you will be confirmed as a regular employee.
