DLRS Assam Land Record Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Directorate of Land Records and Surveys, Assam is hiring Land Record Assistants for the amalgamated establishment of the District Commissioners' offices across the state, leaving out the Sixth Schedule areas. The posts sit under the Assam Land Records Sub-Ordinate Service Rules, 2023, which the state government relaxed in August 2026 so that this drive could go ahead.

This is a fresh advertisement rather than a continuation — the Directorate cancelled its earlier advertisement of March 2026 and is taking online applications again. It is also a closed pool: only people who have already finished the Recorder Certificate Class Course (RCCC) at the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre can be considered, so this is not a general graduate recruitment. If you are one of those trained candidates, the work is the everyday survey and land-record business of a District Commissioner's office, and the posts are spread across the districts that sent their requirements to the Directorate.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• RCCC training is non-negotiable: you must have passed the Recorder Certificate Class Course at the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, Dakhingaon, Guwahati, in both the Survey and the Settlement subjects, with the result declared by the Director before the state notification of 13 August 2026 came into force.
• Where the posts sit: the amalgamated establishment of the District Commissioners' offices — the Sixth Schedule areas are outside this drive. The requirement came from the District Commissioners themselves.
• Serving government staff: if you already work for the Central or a State Government you have to apply through proper channel and produce a No Objection Certificate from your Head of Department at document verification.
• Your school records fix your age: the Directorate goes by the Class X or Class XII admit card, pass certificate or marksheet from a recognised board, so the date of birth printed there is the one that counts.
• Everything stays provisional: your candidature holds only until the original documents are checked. A forged, tampered, fake or inconsistent document cancels the candidature and invites action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
• Posts can stay empty: selection runs strictly on merit and category-wise reservation, and the Directorate says plainly that vacancies may remain unfilled if enough candidates do not clear the qualifying marks. A vacancy existing does not entitle anyone to selection.
• The Board can change course: the Chairman of the Selection Board may cancel, postpone or amend the whole recruitment or any part of it without giving a reason, though any such decision goes into the public domain.
• Small family norms: you sign Declaration Form-A on the application of small family norms at the document verification stage.

Applications are taken only online through sebaonline.org. The portal opens at 11 A.M. on the first day and shuts at 5 P.M. on the closing day, and the advertisement states flatly that no other means or mode of application will be accepted.

Read the portal's instructions before you start, because you upload three things along with the form: a recent passport size colour photograph, your signature, and your RCCC pass certificate, each in the size the instructions specify. After you submit, take a printout of the filled application and keep it safely — you carry it to document verification later.
