DHU Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview
Darjeeling Hills University (DHU) is recruiting Guest Faculty for its academic departments in Darjeeling, West Bengal. These are temporary teaching appointments, with the revised notice bringing Political Science and Public Policy into the same recruitment as English and media studies. You should use the amended notice when considering this application.
Posts and Disciplines
- English and Cultural Studies: Guest Faculty engagement in the university department carrying this subject area.
- Mass Communication, Journalism and Media Studies: A separate departmental appointment covering the media and journalism discipline.
- Political Science and Public Policy: An additional departmental opening included in the amended recruitment notice.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Temporary engagement: These appointments do not provide a route to absorption or promotion. Keep this condition in mind when comparing the role with regular university employment.
- Interview calls: Applying and meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a call. The university decides how many applicants to invite after reviewing the applications.
- Departmental discretion: DHU may decide not to hold interviews where a department receives too few applications.
- Refunds: The application payment is non-refundable after submission.
- Receipt of applications: You are responsible for ensuring the physical application reaches the university within its application period. The university does not take responsibility for processing late arrivals.
Application Submission Notes
The online form sends a copy of your application to your email address. DHU also needs the printed copy at its office, so online submission alone does not complete the application.
Deliver the hard copy or send it by registered post to Darjeeling Hills University, ITI Building, Bhasmey, Mungpoo, District Darjeeling, West Bengal 734313. The notice asks you to avoid folding the papers when posting them.
Corrigenda and Notices
- Amendment dated 18 September 2026: Reference DHU/RGR/N-1/2026/09/257 partly modifies the earlier notice DHU/RGR/A-4/2026/09/252 and includes Political Science and Public Policy. It also supplies the detailed application conditions for this recruitment.
