In General Surgery, the usual junior clinical role centres on surgical ward care and patient follow-up. You help the treating team during rounds and keep patient records up to date so that the next doctor can follow the care plan.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: the engagement runs for 6 months initially. Keep this limited period in mind when deciding whether the post fits your plans.
• Provisional appointment: engagement remains provisional until you meet the college's confirmation conditions. The notice makes confirmation a separate requirement after the initial engagement decision.
• Changes to the drive: the Head of Institution can change the available openings or withdraw the recruitment, either fully or partly. The notice also reserves the right to reject applications without giving reasons or advance notice.
