DHFWS Purba Bardhaman ANM (CHA-Urban) NUHM Recruitment 2026: Overview

The District Health and Family Welfare Samity (DHFWS), Purba Bardhaman, working from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, is hiring ANMs as Community Health Assistant-Urban under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). The posts are at the urban health centres of three municipalities: Kalna, Katwa and Burdwan. You will be part of the neighbourhood health team in one of these towns rather than a ward nurse at a big hospital. The engagement is contractual, ordered by the Mission Director, NHM, West Bengal.

The application format attached to the notice is marked for female candidates only, and both ANM and GNM holders can apply. This round replaces an earlier NUHM notice from December 2025 that the district has cancelled.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• District domicile: You must be a permanent resident of Purba Bardhaman district. Your Voter ID or Ration Card proof has to be attested by a Gazetted Officer or a Group A officer of the state government.
• Language: You must be able to read, write and speak Bengali.
• Nursing registration: Your ANM or GNM course must be from an institute recognised by the Indian Nursing Council, and you must be registered with the West Bengal Nursing Council.
• Merit only: There is no written test or interview. Your rank depends on your percentage in the ANM or GNM examination, worked out without additional subjects and without rounding.
• Qualifications: Your course must be fully completed on or before the last date of application.
• Fee is compulsory: An application sent without the fee deposit proof can be cancelled.
• Contract length: The first engagement runs up to March 2027 and may be renewed on satisfactory performance and approval from the higher authority.

This is an offline application. Fill in the NUHM application format (Annexure-C) printed at the end of the notice, attach self-attested copies of your documents and the NEFT deposit copy showing the UTR number, and send it by speed post, registered post or courier, or hand it in at the office before 5 pm on the closing day.
