Cochin Port Authority is filling 1 Executive Engineer (Ele/E&C) post in its Mechanical Engineering Department. Cochin Port Authority (CoPA) Executive Engineer (Ele/E&C) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Cochin Port Authority (CoPA) has issued a circular to fill 1 post of Executive Engineer (Electrical/Electronics and Communication) in its Mechanical Engineering Department, through absorption or deputation from officers working at other Major Port Authorities across India. Only officers currently holding an analogous post in the Electrical/Electronics and Communication Engineering discipline, or the feeder post with 5 years' regular service in the grade at a Major Port, are eligible — this is not a general public recruitment. Eligible officers from any Major Port can apply through proper channel.

Under the Recruitment Rules attached to this circular (Annexure-I), Cochin Port Authority has 7 sanctioned Executive Engineer posts in this cadre — 4 in Mechanical Engineering and 3 in Electrical/Electronics & Communication Engineering. The current vacancy is 1 of these 3 Electrical/Electronics & Communication posts. The Rules lay down that the normal method of filling this grade is promotion first, then absorption or deputation, and only if both fail, direct recruitment from outside. Promotions to this grade normally come from Assistant Executive Engineers or Safety Officers who have completed 5 to 8 years of regular service, depending on their feeder scale.

Who Can Apply?

• Eligibility: You must be a serving officer at a Major Port Authority holding an analogous post in Electrical/Electronics and Communication Engineering, or working in the feeder post with at least 5 years' regular service in that grade.
• Qualification (reference standard for the grade): A degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognised university, with 5 years of experience in the relevant discipline in an executive cadre of an Industrial/Commercial/Government undertaking.
• Mode of Recruitment: By absorption or deputation — you must apply through your parent Port Authority (proper channel), not directly.
• Probation: Officers who join this grade through direct recruitment serve a probation period of 2 years; this does not apply to absorption/deputation appointments.

Age Limit

• There is no separate age limit for this absorption/deputation vacancy. The 35-year upper age limit under the Recruitment Rules applies only to direct recruitment, not to officers applying through absorption or deputation.

Salary

• The post carries a pay scale of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,60,000 per month (pre-revised scale of Rs. 10,750-16,750).
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as applicable to Major Port officers.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Cochin Port Authority will select the candidate through document scrutiny and eligibility verification. There is no written exam for this deputation/absorption post.

1. Application Screening: Your application in the prescribed format (Annexure-II) will be checked for eligibility, qualification, and experience as on 24 September 2026 — the crucial date for determining eligibility.
2. Document Verification: You must submit attested copies of your educational and professional qualifications, ACR/APAR records for the last 5 years, and a No-Objection Certificate from your parent Port.
3. Vigilance and Administrative Clearance: Your candidature will be cleared through a vigilance and administrative check carried out by your parent Port Authority, using the format at Annexure-IV.
4. Final Selection: Applications received after the last date, or without the required ACR/APAR and other documents, will not be considered.

2. Fill in your personal, service, and qualification details.
3. Attach attested copies of your educational certificates, ACR/APARs for the last 5 years, and a No-Objection Certificate from your parent Port.
4. Get the Head of Office Certificate (Annexure-III) and Vigilance Clearance (Annexure-IV) completed by your current employer.
5. Send your complete application through proper channel to reach Cochin Port Authority on or before 24 September 2026.
6. If your advance copy reaches ahead of the proper-channel copy, it will only be considered if the proper-channel copy arrives within 15 days of the last date.
