ICDS Botad Anganwadi Recruitment 2026: Overview

The ICDS branch of District Panchayat Botad is taking women on as Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers at the anganwadi centres of the district for the year 2026-27. The drive runs under the centrally sponsored Integrated Child Development Services scheme of the Women and Child Development Department of Gujarat, and the notice covers the centres of six ICDS units spread over four talukas of Botad. This is honorary service — you are engaged to serve one particular anganwadi centre, and it is not an appointment to a regular government post. Only women who already live in the village the centre serves can apply, so you are never competing with the whole district.

Posts and Disciplines

• Anganwadi Worker (Karyakar): the woman who runs the centre — the pre-school sessions for the small children of the village, the growth and nutrition registers, and the daily contact with the mothers of the area.
• Anganwadi Helper (Tedagar): the woman who keeps the centre going — bringing the children in from the village, helping while the meal is served, and keeping the room, the utensils and the drinking water ready.

Both roles are filled centre by centre, and the Botad notice names every village whose centre has a current or likely opening. While applying you pick the exact anganwadi centre you want to serve, and a separate online merit list is published for that centre — so you are compared only with the other women of that village.

Post-wise Duties

Anganwadi Worker

You will run the pre-school learning sessions for children aged three to six, hand out the supplementary nutrition to the children and to the pregnant and nursing mothers on the centre's list, and weigh every child regularly so that a child who is falling behind is spotted early. You also help the health staff on immunisation and health check-up days and send sick, malnourished or disabled children on to the nearest health centre. A good part of the work is simply sitting with the women of your village and talking about food, hygiene and childcare.

Anganwadi Helper

You will bring the children to the centre and see them home again, help the worker while the meal is served, and keep the room, the cooking utensils and the drinking water clean and ready before the day begins.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Local residence: you must actually live in the revenue village whose area the anganwadi centre serves, and the only proof the district panchayat accepts is the certificate in the fixed format issued through the Jan Seva Kendra by the Mamlatdar's office.
• Women only: this honorary service is open to women.
• Cut-off: the closing day of the application window is the cut-off for every condition — whatever you claim has to be complete on that day already.
• Nature of the engagement: honorary service for the year 2026-27 under the ICDS scheme, not a regular state government appointment.
• Serving helpers: a working Anganwadi Helper who applies for a Worker post is considered on a priority basis, with a relaxed upper age bar.
• Two villages with a relaxation: for the Helper engagement at Shahpur in Barvala taluka and Gunda in Ranpur taluka, where no candidature came in over the last three attempts, the educational qualification relaxation of the department's resolution dated 25 November 2019 will be applied.
• Governing resolutions: condition 7.6 of Women and Child Development Department resolution no. ICD/102019/1652/B (Part-2) applies, along with the department's later amendments, all of which are published on the portal.
• Wrong information: if anything you fill in turns out to be false or unclear at any stage, your application can be cancelled outright and no representation will be heard.

Everything runs on the state's e-HRMS portal, where this drive sits in the Women and Child Development Department's advertisement list as the anganwadi advertisement marked BOTAD (advertisement no. 2301). The common instructions sheet and the self-declaration form are linked beside it, the village-wise openings sit behind the Details link of that same row, and the form itself has to be filled in English.

Two things trip women up. You have to choose the exact anganwadi centre you want to serve inside the form, and whatever you upload must be clearly readable and in the format the portal prescribes — a blurred scan is enough to get an application set aside. If something about the centre in your village is unclear, the Child Development Project Officer (ICDS) of your taluka in Botad district is the person to ask.
