Bharathiar University Senior Research Fellow (SRF) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Bharathiar University is a State University re-accredited with 'A' Grade by NAAC and ranked 14th among Indian Universities by MoE-NIRF. It has invited applications for 1 Senior Research Fellow post in a time-bound, contractual research project titled 'Natural Compound-mediated combination therapy and Chemosensitization: A strategy to Improve Temozolomide response in Glioblastoma', guided by a CSIR Emeritus Scientist in the Department of Biotechnology. The project tenure is 2 years. As an SRF, you will conduct in vitro experiments with Temozolomide and natural compounds, run molecular and biochemical assays on apoptosis, autophagy, and chemoresistance, and help with data analysis, manuscript preparation, and research presentations. This is a strong opportunity for life sciences graduates who want hands-on experience in cancer research, molecular biology, and biochemistry.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (Option 1): M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech/B.VSc/B.Pharm or equivalent degree, with at least 2 years of post-qualification research experience, backed by published papers in refereed journals.
• Qualification (Option 2): M.E./M.Tech or equivalent degree in Engineering/Technology.
• Qualification (Option 3): MBBS or BDS with 1 year of internship, or M.VSc/M.Pharm or equivalent.
• Desirable: Prior research experience in cancer or biomedical sciences, familiarity with lab techniques and cancer cell lines, strong analytical and scientific writing skills.

The selection committee will especially value candidates who show strong analytical thinking, the ability to independently troubleshoot experiments, and good organizational and documentation habits — since this role involves handling cancer cell line work and keeping accurate long-term lab records over the 2-year project.

Age Limit

• The age limit for SRF is 32 years.
• Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, women, and persons with disabilities.

Salary

• You will get a fellowship of Rs. 42,000 per month as Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
• HRA will be paid as per University norms, in addition to the fellowship.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in these stages:

1. Document and Publication Screening: Your bio-data, experience certificates, and research publications will be reviewed.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed; the date will be intimated by email. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
