Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), Power Wing, has released Advertisement No. 01/2026/ST-36 for apprentice engagement under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961. The training seats are for the year 2026-27 under the Operation & Maintenance Division at Kurukshetra. This is a useful training chance for ITI Electrician and Lineman trade candidates who want practical experience in a power sub-station environment during the 2026-27 training year.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed 10th class from a recognised board with at least 40% marks.
• Trade certificate: You must have a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.
• ITI course: You must have completed the relevant ITI course for Electrician or Lineman trade.
• Aadhaar: Aadhaar card is compulsory for online registration on the apprenticeship portal.
• Result status: If your final result is still awaited on the last date, you will not be considered.
• Previous apprenticeship: You should not apply if you have already completed apprenticeship training or are undergoing apprenticeship training in another establishment under the Apprenticeship Act.

Project-area preference: The notice gives first preference to candidates with a residency certificate of the concerned district or project area. If those seats remain vacant, candidates from the concerned state or union territory are considered, and after that the remaining seats move to open merit.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

BBMB clearly says there will be no interview and no written exam. Selection will be made from the NAPS portal database through a merit list.

1. Online Application Check: Applications submitted through apprenticeshipindia.gov.in between 2 June and 1 July 2026 will be considered.
2. Merit List: Merit will be prepared using marks in 10th class and ITI. The notice gives weightage of 30% for 10th class and 70% for ITI in the concerned trade.
3. Preference Rule: First preference is given to candidates with residency certificate of the concerned district/project area. If seats remain, state/UT residents are considered, and then open merit is used.
4. Tie Break: If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate is preferred. If date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier is considered first.
5. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called with original certificates for checking before final engagement.

Result update: BBMB says the result of apprentice engagement will be uploaded on bbmb.gov.in. Keep checking both the BBMB website and your apprenticeship portal account after the last date.

2. Register yourself as an apprentice candidate and complete your profile using your Aadhaar card.
