AP High Court Editor (Digi-APLR) Recruitment 2026

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh is inviting applications for 1 Editor post for the newly established Digital Andhra Pradesh Law Reports (Digi-APLR) and Translation Wing. If you are a retired District Judge of the AP State Judicial Service with strong command over English and Telugu, you can apply online. The last date to apply is 27 July 2026. High Court of Andhra Pradesh (AP HC) Editor Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has sanctioned one post of Editor for the Digital Andhra Pradesh Law Reports (Digi-APLR) and the Translation Wing, set up within the High Court of Andhra Pradesh at Amaravati. This is a post-retirement engagement reserved for retired District Judges, meant to strengthen the digitisation and vernacular translation of reportable judgments of the Supreme Court and the AP High Court. Notification No. 01/2026 was issued on 9 July 2026, and the recruitment process is handled by the High Court's Recruitment Cell. Only retired judicial officers with strong Telugu and English language skills should apply for this specialised role.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must be a retired District Judge of the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service.
• Language Skills: You must have expertise in both English and Telugu. Candidates with proficiency or a degree (Graduation/Post Graduation) in Telugu will be preferred.
• Other Skills: You should have sound knowledge and understanding of research methodology.
• Conduct: You must not have been awarded any major punishment for misconduct as a Judicial Officer, and no departmental enquiry should be pending against you.
• Conflict of Interest: You must not hold any financial or other interest likely to affect the discharge of your duties as Editor.
• Tenure: The initial appointment is for 2 years, or until you turn 65, whichever is earlier. It may be extended by a further 1 to 2 years based on satisfactory performance.

Note: The competent authority has the absolute right to terminate the appointment at any time, without assigning any reason and without prior notice, if your performance, conduct or suitability is found unsatisfactory.

Age Limit

• The age of the retired Judicial Officer applying for this post should not exceed 65 years as on the date of notification.

Salary

• Your monthly remuneration will be your last drawn pay (Basic + DA) minus pension, as per G.O.Ms.No.48, Finance (HR.V) Department, dated 23.04.2018.

Selection Process

Selection for the post of Editor will be done through a viva voce (personal interview) — there is no written exam:

1. Viva Voce: The panel will evaluate your knowledge of law and intellectual depth, clarity and logical exposition, editorial skills, passion for Telugu and English literature, research skills, attitude and ethics, and your contribution of articles or write-ups to law journals or literary publications.
