Post-wise Duties

Hindi Reporter

You will listen closely during proceedings, take Hindi stenographic notes, and turn them into an organised digital record. Accuracy is important because legislative reporting must preserve the speaker's meaning and the sequence of discussion.

You will also use Hindi DTP tools to prepare clear text for review and official use. The work combines live reporting pressure with careful editing after the sitting.

Hindi Translator

You will translate Assembly material involving Hindi, Assamese and English and check that legislative terms remain consistent. The role needs both language confidence and the judgement to avoid changing the sense of a speech or document.

Bengali Translator

You will prepare dependable versions of material across Bengali, Assamese and English. Familiarity with reporting language can help you handle quotations, public statements and formal Assembly content without making the result sound unnatural.

Karbi Translator

You will work with Karbi, Assamese and English language material and help make the Secretariat's records usable across these languages. Your translation should be faithful, readable and consistent with the institutional context.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement begins for six months and may be extended when the Secretariat still needs the work.
• Temporary status: The appointments are purely temporary and contractual; the Secretariat may end an engagement without giving a reason.
• Travel costs: The Secretariat will not pay TA or DA for attending a test or interview.
