AIIMS Mangalagiri Research Scientist B Recruitment 2026: Overview
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Mangalagiri is recruiting a Research Scientist B (Non-Medical) for its Medical College Level Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) in Andhra Pradesh. The laboratory project comes under the Department of Health Research and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi. This is a contractual project engagement, with periodic renewal built into the appointment.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure: The notice describes a five-year contractual period, with renewal every 11 months from joining. Your engagement therefore includes repeated tenure renewals.
- Field work: You must be ready for field visits when needed. The notice says these visits do not bring any additional payment.
- Working schedule: Laboratory needs may include Sunday, holiday and emergency duties. Keep these requirements in mind when considering the position.
- Performance: The investigator can end the appointment without notice if your performance is unsatisfactory. Termination also follows the appointment terms and applicable ICMR or institute rules.
- Leaving the position: The notice specifies one month's advance notice and says failure to give it may make you liable for one month's salary. It also states that the notice provisions in your appointment or engagement order govern departure after joining.
- Undertaking: If selected, you must accept the engagement terms through an undertaking under ICMR guidelines.
- Travel and stay: You must arrange and pay for your own stay. AIIMS will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.
- Possible overrun: Be prepared to stay an extra day if the scheduled proceedings take longer than planned.
- Accuracy and conduct: False information can disqualify you at any point. Trying to influence the recruitment through canvassing also leads to disqualification.

Reporting starts at 08:00 AM, ahead of the 9:00 AM proceedings. Arriving after registration closes means you cannot take part, so allow enough time to reach the venue.

First-class postgraduate degree in Microbiology, Virology, Medical Genetics, Molecular Biology or Biotechnology from a recognized university; OR a second-class postgraduate degree in one of these subjects with a PhD in one of the listed subjects from a recognized university.

Experience in virology research and knowledge of computer applications are preferred.
