All India Institute of Medical Sciences Kalyani (AIIMS Kalyani) is building a multidisciplinary team for the Asian Bipolar Genetics Network (A-BIG-NET) in its Department of Psychiatry. The research is funded by the Broad Institute and the National Institutes of Health, USA, and is led locally by the department's principal investigator. The notice brings biological science, psychology and nursing backgrounds into one genetics-research project, giving you a role aligned with your professional training while working inside the same study team.

The appointments belong to the funded project rather than the institute's regular establishment. Your work will support a multicentre neuroscience consortium, where consistent research records, coordination and discipline-specific input matter across collaborating sites. Candidates who have already worked in consortium research or published in an indexed journal may be better placed for the technical support roles and the nursing role.

Post-wise Duties

Project Technical Support III, Biological Sciences

You will use your biological-science training to support study activity, maintain reliable research records and coordinate assigned work with the investigator and project team. Your contribution should help the multicentre study keep its scientific documentation consistent.

Project Technical Support III, Psychologist

You will support psychology-related research activity, organise participant and assessment records, and work with the psychiatry team on study documentation. You should be comfortable following project protocols and coordinating with colleagues across a consortium.

Project Nurse II

You will provide nursing support within the research setting, help maintain participant-related clinical records and assist the project team during scheduled study activity. The role calls for careful documentation and professional handling of people taking part in the study.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The initial contract runs for six months or until the project finishes, whichever comes first. An extension depends on funding-agency approval and your performance.
• Project status: You will work under the funded extramural project, not as a direct regular employee of AIIMS Kalyani, and the engagement creates no right to permanent absorption.
• Termination: Either side may end the contract with thirty days' notice or salary in place of notice.
• Full-time work: Private practice is prohibited during the appointment, and institute conduct and discipline rules apply.
• Facilities: The institute will not provide hostel accommodation or travel allowance for attending selection.
