AIIMS Delhi Senior Resident and Demonstrator Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi is recruiting Senior Residents and Senior Demonstrators under the government Residency Scheme. This is a short-term engagement across clinical departments and non-medical disciplines, with centre choices shown separately in the notice. Posts and Disciplines

• Anaesthesiology and critical care: The notice separates general anaesthesiology, onco anaesthesiology, cardiac anaesthesiology, and neuro anaesthesiology with neuro critical care. General anaesthesiology includes MAIN, JPNATC, CDER and DR.RPC centre choices.

• Critical and Intensive Care, Burn and Plastic Surgery: This is a separate MAIN entry in the notification; do not combine it with the Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery entry.
• Laboratory and diagnostic areas: Pathology, Lab Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, Transfusion Medicine and Forensic Medicine are covered. Lab Medicine includes MAIN and JPNATC, while Forensic Medicine is listed at JPNATC.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement lasts for 89 days or until the regular post-holder joins, whichever happens first. Do not treat this as a regular appointment.
• Provisional openings: AIIMS may change the notified position based on its needs and government rules. Check that a seat remains available for your category in your chosen specialty.
• Reserved posts: If SC, ST or OBC candidates are unavailable, the corresponding reserved posts will remain unfilled. Reservation follows Government of India policy.
• Disability reservation: The notice provides a 4% horizontal reservation within the respective categories. A board constituted by AIIMS will assess the relevant disability claims.
