AIIMS BBSR RA and Lab Technician Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhubaneswar (AIIMS BBSR) is building field teams for the Regional Institute for HIV Surveillance and Epidemiology project under NACO. The assignment is managed by the Department of Community Medicine and Family Medicine and focuses on an integrated biological and behavioural survey among high-risk groups. This is field-based public-health work in Andhra Pradesh, not a routine hospital or laboratory posting at the Bhubaneswar campus.

The teams will work across Visakhapatnam, Kurnool and NTR districts. People from these districts receive preference because the work depends on local coordination, language ability and steady contact with survey sites. You should be comfortable working with sensitive health information and following the project's protocol closely.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Research Assistant: a field-lead role covering participant mapping, interviews, survey monitoring, stakeholder liaison and reporting for the HIV surveillance study.
  • Laboratory Technician: a specimen-collection and logistics role covering dried blood spots, consumable control, safe storage, packaging, transport and procedure records.

Post-wise Duties

Research Assistant

You will lead field data collection with support from the laboratory technician and other survey staff. Your day-to-day work includes coordinating field movement, keeping survey activity aligned with NACO protocol, updating stakeholders and preparing timely documentation. You may also help resolve practical issues that arise while the survey team works with high-risk groups.

Laboratory Technician

You will manage the sample-handling side of the survey. That includes preparing consumables, collecting dried blood spot specimens, keeping samples secure and arranging their packaging and transport under the approved standard operating procedures. Accurate records are important because every sample must remain traceable through the field workflow.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Temporary project work: Both roles are purely temporary contracts for six months. Any continuation depends on project need, performance and approval.
  • No regular appointment claim: The contract does not create a right to absorption, another assignment or transfer within AIIMS, NACO or the Government of India.
  • Benefits: Provident fund, pension, leave travel concession and medical claims are not part of this project engagement.
  • Existing government staff: People already serving on a regular time scale in a government department or organisation cannot apply.
  • District preference: Candidates belonging to the listed Andhra Pradesh districts receive preference, and Telugu communication is important for field interaction.
  • Hybrid interview: Online participants remain provisionally selected until AIIMS physically checks their original documents.

पात्रता मानदंड

न्यूनतम योग्यता

Research Assistant: MPH, MSW or postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Anthropology or Psychology. Laboratory Technician: B.Sc MLT, eligible MLT/DMLT route, two-year ANM or three-year GNM.

वांछित योग्यता

Experience with high-risk groups and field-based health surveys, plus good communication in Telugu, English and Hindi.

आवश्यक कौशल

Field survey work, sensitive participant interaction, health-data documentation, stakeholder coordination, laboratory sample handling, logistics, and Telugu, English and Hindi communication.

आयु सीमा

18 - 35 वर्ष (12 सित. 2026 तक)
