The School of Human Ecology at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai wants two Teaching Assistants for its Postgraduate Diploma in Trauma-Focused Therapy. TISS is a deemed university funded by the Ministry of Education, and this diploma is one of its short-term programmes (STP). This is a fixed-term engagement for one academic cycle, not a regular faculty post. It suits you if you hold a master's in clinical or counselling psychology and want to work on the support side of a trauma therapy course.

The role is about running the course smoothly, not teaching it. You will not take classes yourself; instead you support the Faculty-in-Charge with teaching material, student coordination, evaluation records, fieldwork links with partner organisations and research documentation. You also prepare announcements and posters for the programme and share them on TISS's official social media channels.

Posts and Disciplines

• Teaching Assistant (Full Time): a full working-week role at the TISS Mumbai campus in Deonar, covering the whole diploma cycle.
• Teaching Assistant (Part Time): a role built around the course timetable, which runs on weekday evenings (5:45 to 8:15 pm) and weekday afternoons (2:00 to 5:00 pm), three days a week.

Both posts do the same work and need the same qualifications. Pick the one that matches the time you can give; the full-time post pays more.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement lasts nine months, from 1 November 2026 to 31 July 2027. It ends with the diploma cycle.
• Unreserved posts: Both positions are unreserved, but you can still apply if you belong to a reserved category.
• Joining time: You must join within 15 days of being selected.
• Working candidates: If you are employed now, bring a No Objection Certificate from your employer to the interview.
• Relaxation: TISS may relax the qualification or experience rules in exceptional cases, including for people already holding a similar post in government, academia or industry.
