SER Group C Cultural Quota Recruitment 2026: Overview

South Eastern Railway (SER) is recruiting for suitable Group C posts through its cultural quota for the 2026-27 cycle. The Railway Recruitment Cell is handling this open recruitment, which brings classical dance and instrumental music disciplines into the same notice. The cultural discipline is central to the opening, while your eventual railway post depends on the authority's placement decision.

Posts and Disciplines

• Classical Dance: The listed forms are Bharatanatyam, Kathakali, Kathak, Manipuri, Odissi and Kuchipudi. This stream brings the specified dance traditions together under the classical-dance opening.
• Instrumental Music: The listed instruments are flute, violin, veena, sitar and sarod. This is the separate music stream within the same cultural-quota recruitment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Open quota: The cultural-quota posts are open to all candidates. If you are selected after using a reserved-category relaxation, the appointment will be adjusted against the corresponding reserved roster point.
• Posting decision: The appropriate railway authority will decide your place of posting. Allocation also depends on available vacancies and the requirements of the offered post, so the recruitment-cell address does not establish your work location.
• Clerical appointments: If placed as a Clerk-cum-Typist, your appointment stays provisional until you meet the typing-proficiency condition. The notice allows a period after appointment to acquire that proficiency.
• Travel support: SC/ST candidates can receive a second-class railway pass between their home station and the examination venue for the written test and document verification, under the applicable rules.
• Stay arrangements: SER will not provide TA, DA or accommodation for attending recruitment events. You may need to stay for two to three days, and you must arrange that stay yourself.
• Schedule changes: The railway may change a venue, postpone an event or cancel it for unforeseen reasons. It will not accept individual requests to postpone your attendance, and you may need to travel at short notice.
• Communication: Keep your own registered mobile number and email active throughout recruitment. SER sends messages through these channels and does not accept requests to change them during the process.
• Application finality: Registering multiple applications can lead to rejection. Once you make the final submission, the notice does not allow changes; keep the generated application number for later correspondence.
• Provisional status: Being called for a recruitment event does not create a right to appointment. Your candidature and any published success list remain subject to the railway completing its checks and other formalities.
• Recruitment integrity: SER has not appointed agents or coaching centres to arrange selection. Attempts to influence recruitment, impersonation or false claims can lead to rejection, debarment and legal action.
