Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract length: You join initially for one year. KVIC may extend the engagement for a further two years after reviewing performance and the need for the work. Continuation needs a fresh contract.
• Consultancy status: Young Professionals serve as individual consultants. The contract does not make you a KVIC staff member or establish a regular employer–employee relationship.
• No regularisation: The engagement gives you no right to permanent absorption or regular service with KVIC. Treat the opportunity as a fixed contractual assignment when deciding whether to apply.
• Working hours: You follow the hours observed by regular KVIC employees. Working beyond those hours or on holidays does not bring extra pay.
• Leave: The contract allows eight days of leave in a year. Unused leave does not carry into the next annual term, and intervening weekends or government holidays do not count towards this allowance.
• Travel: You may need to make domestic tours with approval from the competent authority. KVIC does not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview, joining the assignment or completing it.
• Confidentiality: Information you access during the assignment must stay with authorised people. You need KVIC approval before publishing a book or compilation of articles involving that information.
• Insurance: You are responsible for arranging and maintaining appropriate insurance at your own expense during the contract.
• Conduct: Honesty, confidentiality and compliance with KVIC and government rules apply throughout. Unsatisfactory service or a conflict with KVIC’s interests can lead to discontinuation.
• Ending the contract: The termination clause refers to one month’s notice by either side. It also uses inconsistent wording about termination without prior notice, so check the individual contract before signing.
• Joining from another organisation: Serving government or public-sector staff must be properly relieved by their parent organisation before joining.
• Recruitment changes: The advertised positions are tentative. KVIC may revise conditions, change interview arrangements or cancel the process. Check its vacancy page for updates because amendments will be posted there.
