PDPM Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Jabalpur, is recruiting project staff for a study supported by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The study uses multimodal artificial intelligence to predict early-stage temporomandibular disorders by combining dietary habits, psychosocial factors and image analysis. These are project contracts linking engineering research in Jabalpur with dental institutions in Jabalpur and Raipur.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist II (Medical): Based at Government Dental College, Raipur, under the project co-investigators at that college. This is the medical role within the shared research project.
• Project Research Scientist I (Non-Medical): Based at PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur, with an engineering focus linked to the temporomandibular joint study.
• Project Technical Support III: Assignments span PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur, Government Dental College in Raipur and Hitkarini Dental College & Hospital in Jabalpur. The institute-based route relates to engineering and data work, while the dental-college routes relate to clinical support.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial appointment: You join on a temporary project contract for one year. The role tables allow annual renewal after satisfactory performance, up to four years or completion of the project, whichever comes first.
• Renewal caveat: The attached ICMR terms describe the general extension framework separately: extension up to three years following review, with exceptional approval up to five years. Your appointment and renewal remain subject to project needs and the applicable approval; the role tables do not promise automatic continuation.
• End of engagement: A fixed-term appointment ends automatically if it is not extended within its tenure. The annexure rules out retrospective extensions, so a renewal must be in place before the existing term ends.
• Travel: You must be ready to move between Raipur and Jabalpur for project work and travel elsewhere in India when needed. The named workplace for each role remains the base stated in its table.
• Doctoral opportunity: The selected Non-Medical Scientist I may register for a regular PhD in the PS category at IIITDM Jabalpur, subject to institute norms. This opportunity is specifically stated for that position.
• Leave: Paid leave accrues at 1.5 days for each completed month of engagement. It is calculated by project year and may accumulate over the project duration.
• Position changes: If a suitable person is not found, the principal investigator may seek approval to downgrade a project position and inform ICMR. The annexure also permits specialised personnel with equivalent qualifications when project needs and the relevant approvals allow it.
• Travel costs: You will not receive travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.
