ESIC Baddi Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is filling doctor posts at its Model Hospital in Katha, Baddi, in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. The drive covers Senior Residents, Full Time and Part Time Specialists, a Cardiology Super Specialist and Senior Residents against GDMO posts, all on contract. Everything happens through a single walk-in interview day at the hospital, so you do not need to post an application in advance.

The hospital is also working towards NBEMS accreditation for DNB courses, which ESIC pitches as a route into teaching for specialists who join now. Most contracts start at one year and can stretch to three years if your work is rated satisfactory.

Posts and Disciplines

• Full Time / Part Time Specialist: openings in Chest/Pulmonary Medicine, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Radiology, Psychiatry, Skin, Surgery, ICU, Accident and Emergency, and Biochemistry. Full-time candidates get first preference; part-timers are picked only when full-timers are not available.
• Senior Resident (one year, extendable to three): posts in Anaesthesia and Critical Care, Chest/Pulmonary Medicine, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Radiology, Surgery, Eye, Skin and Biochemistry. Anaesthesia and Critical Care has the largest share.
• Super Specialist (Cardiology): a full-time or part-time cardiologist with a DM in the speciality, engaged for one year or until a regular super specialist joins.
• Senior Resident (against GDMO): one-year Senior Resident contracts held against General Duty Medical Officer posts, open to MBBS doctors with working experience in the same discipline as well as PG holders.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract only: the job does not lead to regular appointment or absorption in ESIC, and no PF, pension, gratuity, medical allowance, seniority, promotion or leave benefits apply.
• Early exit: the contract can end before one year if the post is filled on a regular basis, and either side can close it with one month's notice.
• Indemnity insurance: selected Specialists and the Super Specialist must hold a professional indemnity policy, with the minimum cover set by speciality (higher for surgeons and anaesthetists), and submit the policy copy within 7 days of joining.
• Security deposit: on selection you pay a refundable security deposit by demand draft in favour of ESIC Fund Account No. 1, payable at Baddi, returned after you finish the contract and get a no-dues certificate.
• Agreement: you sign a contract with the Medical Superintendent on non-judicial stamp paper bought at your own cost.
• Part-time specialists: work at least 16 hours a week and get no leave of any kind.
• No work, no pay: pay follows this rule, and 15 days of unapproved absence counts as abandoning the contract.
• Already a senior resident? Doctors who have finished three years of senior residency need not apply under the residency scheme.
• No housing: hostel, quarters and uniform are not provided, and no TA/DA is paid for the interview or for joining.
• Reservation: SC/ST/OBC/EWS reservation follows Central Government rules; PwD candidates are adjusted against their own category, and only those with 40% or more disability get the PH benefit.
• Selection: depends on medical fitness and a character and antecedents check, and the number of posts may change on interview day.

Report on interview day between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM at the Office of the Medical Superintendent, 3rd floor, ESIC Model Hospital, Katha, Baddi (H.P.) 173205. Bring the application form attached to the advertisement, filled in capital letters with a self-attested photo pasted on it.
