DRDO ADE Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), part of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is engaging a technical Consultant for a specific aeronautical project in Bengaluru. The assignment supports the RPSA programme and its systems-engineering work, from user requirements through design, assurance and product support. This is a contract engagement for a retired official whose specialist experience can guide the programme team.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial engagement: The contract starts with a one-year term and may be extended under the applicable rules. The technical annexure sets out work across a two-year programme, but that work plan does not itself guarantee a second year of employment.
• Nature of appointment: You join for a specific assignment in a temporary, non-official capacity. The engagement does not create a right to absorption, regularisation or other service benefits in DRDO, and it is not treated as re-employment.
• Limits on authority: A consultant cannot exercise statutory, legal or financial powers. Your role remains within the tasks and terms agreed for the assignment.
• Working arrangements: Normal ADE office hours apply. Project needs may involve work beyond those hours or on holidays, without extra benefits or compensatory leave under the stated conditions.
• Conflicts of interest: You must disclose conflicts as they arise and stay out of advice or decisions affected by them. Private business or professional work that conflicts with government interests is prohibited during the engagement.
• Confidentiality: Sharing project data with another person or organisation needs the specified prior approval. Publishing material based on information obtained during the assignment also needs approval.
• Ownership and handover: DRDO owns the intellectual property in the assignment data and deliverables. You must return the full set of records before the contract ends or the final payment is released, whichever happens first.
• Performance and exit: ADE will review your work and deliverables periodically. The authority can end the engagement with one week of written notice; you may resign with one month of notice. Payment instead of notice is subject to the competent authority’s discretion.
• Leave: Paid leave accrues at 1.5 days for each completed month of service. You cannot carry unused leave beyond the calendar year.
• Retirement gap: At least 15 days must separate your retirement and your appointment as consultant. The contract and confidentiality commitments apply before you take up the assignment.
