CSIR-CEERI Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CEERI), Pilani, a leading electronics research lab of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is engaging project staff for six ongoing projects under advertisement PF-09/2026. The roles span high-power microwave devices, organ-on-chip instrumentation, piezoelectric sensors and chip-design skilling, plus a skill-development project at the institute's Jaipur campus.

These are temporary project engagements made on behalf of the project sponsors, not regular CSIR posts. They suit diploma holders, science graduates, engineers and PhD holders in electronics and allied subjects who want hands-on research experience, and interviews are held online over Microsoft Teams, so you do not need to travel to Pilani to be considered.

Posts and Disciplines

For the Project Scientist and post-3418 roles, the institute prefers experience in integrated circuit design flow, hardware accelerators, sensor interface and analog design, HDLs and EDA tools such as Cadence and Synopsys. The Jaipur posts favour embedded systems, PCB design and Arduino programming.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Six-year cap: If you have already served CSIR-CEERI or any CSIR lab as project staff for six years or more, you cannot apply. With less than six years, you get only the remaining period.
• Tenure: The first term is six months or co-terminus with the project, extendable in six-month steps on satisfactory performance.
• Not a CSIR post: The engagement gives you no claim to any post in CSIR-CEERI or CSIR.
• NET or GATE advantage: Project Associate-I and II pay a higher amount to candidates selected through NET, GATE or a national-level exam; without one, the lower rate applies.
• JRF fallback: If no suitable JRF is found for post 3415, a Project Associate-I or II may be engaged instead.
• AcSIR PhD students: Students already holding a fellowship cannot apply. Others can apply only if their PhD area matches the project, with written permission from the supervisor, the project PI and the Director.
• Cut-off date: Qualification, experience and the upper age limit are all checked as on the last date of the online application.
• HRA: Paid as per CSIR guidelines and only if the project has funds.
• Panels: The selection committee may keep a panel for future project engagements, and the number of positions may change.
• Language: If the English and Hindi versions of the advertisement differ, the English version prevails.

After you register, your account stays inactive until you email your name and registered email ID to pathakjt.ceeri@csir.res.in (Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:50 PM) and the technical team activates it. Note down your password: the portal has no self-service reset, and only the admin can reset it.
