AIIMS Delhi Project Research Scientist-II Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi is hiring one Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) in its Department of Psychiatry. The post belongs to an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funded project on geriatric mental health, project code I-2030.

The project is building and testing a digital intervention for older patients with cognitive impairment and their caregivers. It is run as a two-arm parallel randomised controlled trial, comparing the digital programme against usual care. This is a project-based contractual post, not a regular AIIMS job. It fits a psychology postgraduate or PhD who wants clinical research work with elderly patients and families. The principal investigator is Dr Preethy K, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: You join for six months first; the post can be extended up to three years depending on your performance.
• Two routes to eligibility: A psychology postgraduate degree (integrated PG counts) with three years of post-qualification experience, or a PhD in Psychology.
• What gives you an edge: Work in geriatric mental health, experience with dementia patients, clinical research and project management, and at least one publication.
• Strict eligibility check: If you are found ineligible at any stage, the appointment will be cancelled.
• Interview day: Only candidates who meet the criteria are called, and you must bring your original documents. No TA or DA is paid.
