IIT Delhi Student Counsellor Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is engaging a Consultant (Student Counsellor) for its Counselling Services at Hauz Khas, New Delhi. This is a contractual campus assignment covering student counselling, emergency handling and development workshops for the institute community. The notice identifies the engagement as Type-III, with continuation linked to the institute’s needs and your work performance.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial term: The contract starts with one year. IIT Delhi may extend it up to a maximum of three years if the service is needed and your work is satisfactory.
- Temporary status: Taking part in the interview or being selected does not create a right to a permanent position on IIT Delhi’s regular staff.
- Review: Continuation depends on the functional need for the service as well as the review of your work. An extension is therefore conditional.
- Recruitment changes: The institute may change the number of openings, postpone the recruitment or cancel it.
- Accuracy of information: Incorrect or false information can lead to cancellation of your candidature or appointment, even if it is found later.

Use the prescribed application form available in the Non-Academic area of Jobs@IITDelhi. Send your completed application package in PDF format to recruitmentcell@admin.iitd.ac.in; the notice says no hard copy needs to go by post or courier.
Your scans must be clearly readable, preferably at a resolution of 300 dpi or higher. Give the marks percentage or division for each examination and full work-experience details in the form. Incomplete applications are rejected, so these details need to be filled in clearly.
Keep an eye on your email inbox: IIT Delhi will send the interview date separately to shortlisted applicants. The notice does not provide a common interview date for everyone who applies.
