CSIR AMPRI Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR-Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute (CSIR-AMPRI) is engaging project staff at Bhopal for science outreach and materials research. This notice brings together CSIR-Jigyasa, battery thermal management, advanced materials, additive manufacturing and bioenergy-device projects. Your assignment depends on the post code, with each role linked to a particular project rather than a permanent institute position.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Associate II, Project Associate I and Project Assistant II — Jigyasa: These roles support science interaction programmes at AMPRI and in schools.
• Senior Project Associate — battery thermal management: This role belongs to the graphene-decorated heat-pipe project for battery packs.
• Project Associate I — advanced materials: The assignment focuses on capacitor materials, device fabrication and additive processes.
• Project Associate I — metal additive manufacturing: The project develops graphene-composite components for aerospace and defence applications.
• Project Associate I — bioenergy devices: This Department of Biotechnology project combines biofuel cells and supercapacitors in a self-charging medical-system power device.

Post-wise Duties

Jigyasa project staff

You will help deliver school programmes, exhibitions and science interactions. Associates support contests and quizzes, with travel across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and parts of Odisha; the Associate I role also keeps paper and digital records. The Assistant II role supports lab visits, video conferences and programme documentation.

Senior Project Associate

You will work on battery thermal management, including graphene growth and physicochemical characterisation. Research-paper preparation and project reporting also form part of the work.

Project Associate I research assignments

The advanced-materials role covers capacitor development, device fabrication and 3D printing. The metal additive-manufacturing role studies graphene-reinforced steel and aluminium alloys. In the bioenergy project, you will fabricate and test self-charging devices and help draft manuscripts and reports.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: Your contract ends with its project. Engagement depends on project funding, and the advertised positions remain provisional until funding is confirmed.
• Continuity: Moving to another project is not automatic. You must go through the normal recruitment process again and complete the release requirements for your previous project.
• Overall limit: Combined project service across CSIR laboratories cannot exceed six years. This temporary engagement gives no claim to a regular AMPRI post.
• Performance and exit: AMPRI reviews project staff periodically and may end the contract with one month’s notice. If you leave, the notice provides for one month’s notice or stipend in lieu, subject to the competent authority’s discretion.
• Waitlist: A post-code-wise panel remains valid for one year and may support later staffing needs in the same project and position.
• Research registration: Ph.D. registration may be allowed when the project lasts at least three years, subject to the institute’s other conditions.

The walk-in venue is CSIR-AMPRI, Narmadapuram Road, Near Habibganj Naka, Bhopal-462026, Madhya Pradesh. Morning reporting is 09:00 AM–10:00 AM for post codes 01, 02, 03 and 06; afternoon reporting is 01:00 PM–02:00 PM for post codes 04, 05 and 07. Check your post’s scheduled day in the recruitment requirements.
