ZP Surajpur Lekhapal Recruitment 2026: Overview

Zila Panchayat Surajpur in Chhattisgarh is hiring Lekhapal (Accountant) staff on contract for its Janpad Panchayat offices under the Viksit Bharat - Rozgar aur Ajeevika ke liye Guarantee Mission (Gramin), known as VB-G RAM G. These are block-level posts that keep the accounts of the rural employment and livelihood scheme in order.

The biggest change in this cycle: the post was first open only to Surajpur district residents, but a corrigendum has now opened it to native residents of the whole of Chhattisgarh and reopened the online window. If you are a B.Com graduate from any district of the state, you can now apply.

The same advertisement also covered Programme Officer and Assistant Programmer posts, but only the Lekhapal window has been reopened.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Domicile: You must be a native (mool niwasi) of Chhattisgarh and attach a self-attested domicile certificate issued by a competent authority.
• Contract term: The contract runs for one year and can be extended by mutual consent, based on need, conduct, efficiency and your annual performance appraisal.
• Rules that apply: The engagement follows the Chhattisgarh General Administration Department contract-appointment order of 31 December 2012, the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Contract Appointment) Rules 2012 for leave, and the Conduct Rules 1965.
• Exit: Either side can end the contract with one month's notice or one month's pay in lieu of notice.
• No retirement benefits: Contract service does not earn pension, gratuity or death-cum-retirement benefits.
• Shortlisting: If applications cross 10 times the vacancies, only the top 10 candidates per post by merit are called for the computer practical test.
• Waiting list: The final merit list stays valid for one year, and future vacancies are filled from it in merit order; on equal marks, the older candidate ranks higher.
• Experience marks: Experience counts only if it is in a government rural development scheme at a pay not lower than this post, backed by an experience letter and a certified salary slip.
• Marriage rule: A candidate who married below the legal minimum age, or who has a living spouse and married again, is not eligible.
• Past dismissal: Anyone removed from a government post for misconduct or indiscipline cannot be appointed.
• Working candidates: If you work in a government or non-government body, you must attach a No Objection Certificate.

• Corrigendum No. 4944 dated 16 October 2026: following the Chhattisgarh High Court (Bilaspur) order of 12 May 2022 and the General Administration Department circular F 20-3/2022/1-3 of 29 September 2022, the local-residence condition for Bastar and Surguja division districts no longer applies, so the Lekhapal post is open to all native residents of Chhattisgarh and the application window has been extended. All other terms of the original advertisement remain unchanged.
