VNIT Project Associate-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur is hiring a Project Associate-I (PA-I) in its Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The post sits on a research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), titled "Intelligent Detection and Mitigation of Cyber Attacks in Information-Centric Networking (ICN)".

The project builds an Artificial Intelligence method to spot and block cyber attacks on ICN networks, while keeping data confidentiality and access control intact and making the encryption process lighter. If you enjoy Python, network security and machine learning, this is a hands-on research role rather than a teaching or admin post. The project is led by Dr. Kumari Nidhi Lal, who also takes questions about the project's scope by email.

A big plus: the selected PA-I can register for a regular PhD at VNIT's CSE department, as long as you meet the department's PhD admission rules. Fresh B.E./B.Tech. graduates with a first-class record can apply alongside M.Tech. holders.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The post is purely temporary. The first appointment is for one year, extendable up to June 2028 on satisfactory performance, and never beyond the project's end date.
• Fellowship tiers: The higher fellowship is paid only to candidates selected through CSIR-UGC NET, GATE or another national-level exam run by central government agencies; everyone else gets the lower rate.
• Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates are informed by email about the written test and/or interview date.
• Interview costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Final say: The decision of the Director, VNIT Nagpur is final in all matters.
