UIDAI Accountant Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the body that runs Aadhaar under the Aadhaar Act, 2016, wants an Accountant for its Regional Office in Delhi. This is not an open recruitment — the post is filled on deputation on Foreign Service terms, so you must already be a regular government or public-sector employee to be considered.

The opening first came out in a vacancy circular of May 2026 (VC ID 19809). UIDAI has now re-advertised it through an extension circular (VC ID 19945), which gives new applicants more time while keeping the original eligibility rules. If you work in accounts in a Central, State or UT department, a PSU or an autonomous body, this is a chance to move to the Aadhaar authority for a few years without leaving your parent cadre.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation only: Private candidates are not eligible. Only officers holding regular posts in a government, PSU or autonomous organisation can apply.
• Foreign Service terms: You stay on the rolls of your parent department and serve UIDAI on deputation; your pay and terms follow the deputation rules.
• Eligibility cut-off: Even after the extension, your eligibility is still judged as on 15 July 2026, the closing date of the original circular.
• Remaining service: You need at least three years of service left before your superannuation in your current organisation.
• Language of record: If the English and Hindi versions of the circular differ, the English version is final.

Application Submission Notes

Your application must go through proper channel — that is, forwarded by your current employer. UIDAI will not consider an application sent directly without this forwarding.

The vacancy page on the UIDAI career portal also carries an Apply Now option and both the English and Hindi versions of the circular.

• Extension circular (VC ID 19945, September 2026): the closing date of the May 2026 circular (VC ID 19809) was extended. If you already applied under the original circular, you do not need to apply again.
