Posts and Disciplines

• Assistant General Manager, Contract Cell: The role is linked to the shipyard's contracting and commercial operations, including subcontracting, purchasing and vendor-related work.
• Assistant General Manager, Design: This stream focuses on ship design, including hull structures, machinery outfitting and hull outfitting.
• Manager, Hull: The relevant work areas are hull construction, outfitting, heavy fabrication and erection in marine and shipbuilding operations.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Posting flexibility: You may work at the Malpe unit or a project site chosen by UCSL. The appointment also carries an obligation to serve in company departments, aboard ships, or at units and projects elsewhere in India or abroad.
• Regular appointment: These posts are on the company's regular rolls. The Contract Cell is the name of a work area; its Assistant General Manager post is also a regular appointment.
• Previous service: UCSL will not take responsibility for salary, leave salary, pension contributions or similar obligations arising from your earlier employment.
• Travel for interview: Reimbursement follows company rules for the shortest route from your stated mailing address. It depends on meeting the recruitment conditions and producing travel evidence; it does not apply to interviews held electronically.
• Communication: Call letters will not arrive by post. UCSL will communicate through email and the company websites, so you need to keep track of those channels.
• Rank list: The list may remain valid for up to 18 months from the last advised candidate's reporting date, or until a fresh notice for the post appears. UCSL may use it for non-joining or later separation, at its discretion.
• Recruitment changes: Filling the posts depends on suitable applicants, project availability and work requirements. The company may alter or cancel the process, and any amendments will appear on the UCSL or Cochin Shipyard website.
